House System
The House system is a cornerstone of school life at Benevolent Islamic Secondary School, creating smaller communities within our larger school family. Each student belongs to one of four houses, which compete in academics, sports, arts, and service throughout the year. The house system fosters school spirit, encourages friendly competition, and builds lasting friendships across year groups.
House Organisation
Each house is led by a House Master/Mistress and supported by House Prefects and senior leaders. Students are assigned to houses either by selection process or during their first year, creating vertical communities where students from Forms 1-4 study and compete together. This structure allows older students to mentor younger ones and builds a strong sense of unity.
Our Four Houses
Each house has its own identity, colours, and traditions:
- Alfard House: Known for academic excellence and scholarly achievement
- Jahangir House: Recognized for sporting prowess and athletic excellence
- Makiya House: Celebrated for creativity, arts, and cultural contributions
